Following the refurbishment of the Straffan Clubhouse, Straffard LGFA would like to show our deep appreciation to Ian and Julia Fortune for their kind generosity, commitment and professionalism in completing this extensive and costly upgrade project. 👏🙏
A reminder to all parents to please make sure you have your clubzap notifications turned on. Mentors and coaches rely on parents indicating if their child is attending training/matches in a timely fashion. This helps with planning training, depending on what numbers are attending. It also helps with match management. Most coaches have their teams picked before matches and also have an idea of what substitutions they will make. This is particularly important as the girls get older as mentors need to have team sheet attendance ready for opposition and referees.
Below are steps needed to make sure your clubzap notifications are switched on:
- To turn on Notifications within Clubzap:
Open the app and navigate to Settings (Cog icon)

Select Push Notifications

Toggle on "Allow Push Notifications"

You can also turn Clubzap notification on directly from iphone or android phone by following the steps below:
iPhone:
Go to Settings > Notifications > Find ClubZap > Make sure "Allow Notifications" is on.
Android:
Go to Settings > Apps > Find ClubZap > Notifications > Ensure notifications are enabled.
Big news regarding our Straffard Mothers & Others team - they got accepted to play at the South Leinster Festival Day in June 🙌🙌 This will be a great day out.....hopefully we get good support on the day. Our U17 team play their semi final against Sarsfields next Tuesday in Straffan. All support welcome. 💪

U7s vs Celbridge & Clane Our U7s were out on Saturday morning for a blitz in Clane. They played 4 matches against 2 Celbridge and 2 Clane teams. Some great skills on show from the girls. We can really see improvement in the basic skills and brilliant attitude. 🤩

A great display of football last night in Celbridge. Two brilliant matches played by the girls - huge thanks to goalie Dan for helping us out and Lainey who filled in for us as we were short two players. 👏

U13s vs Leixlip (Div 1 Semi-Final)
Straffard 4-12 Leixlip 5-8 ( After Extra Time )
An absolutely super game of football last night in the division 1 u13 semi final. The girls kicked 5 points in the last 4 minutes of the second half of extra time to come back from 4 points down. We've seen this team stage great comebacks in the past and yet again the players showed great mental strength, staying in the game and pushing on for the win. 💪👏
They now play the Division 1 Final vs Celbridge on the 7th June!
